The Victoria Royals are gearing up for the highly anticipated Teddy Bear Toss happening during this Sunday’s afternoon matinee game at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.
If this is your go-to game of the season, make sure to secure your tickets soon—60% of the tickets have already been sold!
Dubbed the biggest game of the year, the Royals are aiming to surpass last year’s record of 2,667 bears tossed onto the ice.
So, how does it work? Fans are encouraged to bring a gently used teddy bear to the rink. When the Royals score, it’s time to get those tossing arms ready and make it rain teddy bears onto the ice!
The teddy bears will be donated to multiple charities in the community.
This family-friendly event starts at 3:05 p.m. and includes some exciting extras. Fans will have the chance to win an Arkells-signed Royals jersey as a door prize.
After the game, there’s a post-game skate with the players. Bring your own skates or rent them from the City of Victoria Shop.
The Royals are set to play back-to-back games this weekend against the Kelowna Rockets. The first game takes place on Saturday, December 7th, with puck drop at 6:05 p.m.
For that game, Blackrock Oceanfront Resort will be giving away a two night stay at their luxury resort in Ucluelet!
The Royals head into this weekend’s matchups riding high after a decisive 7-1 victory over the Regina Pats—their first win against the team since 2018.
The team currently sits second in the Western Conference and first in the BC Division, leading the second-place Prince George Cougars by four points, though the Cougars have two games in hand.
It’s going to be a great weekend of hockey so make sure you score your tickets before they go quickly!
