Intrepid Theatre’s beloved winter queer cabaret is back for one night only, and it promises to be a wild, fabulous celebration of queer art and performance!
HOMO: A Queer Cabaret brings together a diverse lineup of queer artists, boundary-pushers, and experimenters for a night filled with campy performances, bold new works, and raucous cabaret acts.
The 11th annual HOMO will take place on Friday, December 6th at Metro Studio Theatre, starting at 7:30 p.m.
Known for its high-energy, anything-goes atmosphere, HOMO is an anticipated sell-out, so don’t miss this boundary-pushing variety of queer expression!
“Audiences can expect a wild ride,” Sean Guist, the Artistic Director told Victoria Buzz.
“The work on stage ranges from musical theatre to spoken word to performance art to drag. It really puts queer and trans people on stage and shares these stories and identities, and I think that’s really important.”
The performers lined up for this year’s event are sure to dazzle, including hosts Peach Cobblah and Vivian Vanderpuss, as well as beloved Shelita Cox, Buwa, Dex Neily, Zaiden Thiessen, Ciarán Volke, Call Us Men and more.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing Shelita Cox on stage, now’s your chance. Shelita is a pillar of the local drag scene and is always uplifting fellow performers through her work.
Guist added that on top of the seasoned performers, there will be a lot of new faces on the stage this year to add to the excitement.
Louie Norman, a queer and trans performer, is one in particular he highlighted, saying that they’ll be sharing an excerpt of a performance art/theatrical solo show they’ve been working on.

When asked what Guist is most looking forward to, he raved about the electric atmosphere of the room as the performances roll out.
“My favourite thing is the energy in the room,” Guist said.
“[Everyone] gets so caught up in the celebration of it, it’s not just sitting in the dark and watching a play…it’s a party on stage…and everyone is having a rocking time.”
To learn more about the performers, and purchase tickets, you can visit Intrepid Theatre’s website.
General admission tickets are $27, and there’s also a Youth OUTreach or Pay-What-You-Ten option.
Through the Youth OUTreach initiative, Intrepid Theatre offers a limited number of free tickets to self-identified LGBTQ youth and allies under 25.
Both the Youth OUTreach and Pay-What-You-Ten initiatives are designed to give people the chance to experience the magic of HOMO and the upcoming 2025 OUTstages Festival, helping to cultivate a new generation of theatre-goers and theatre-makers without the financial stress.
