If you have an upcoming trip to the Boathouse Spa planned, you will have to postpone for now.
On Friday, December 27th, Oak Bay Beach hotel announced the temporary closure of their acclaimed Boathouse Spa after a recent storm damages the facility.
In a recent social media post, the hotel said that their spa sustained significant water damage during the severe storm surges on Christmas Day.
While the pools will remain open to the public, the rest of the Boathouse Spa will need to undergo extensive repairs.
“We are actively evaluating all options and will provide updates as new information becomes available in the coming week,” the post reads.
Oak Bay Hotel is one of many impacted by this recent storm surge.
On Christmas Day, thousands of Vancouver Island residents were without power and BC Ferries had cancelled multiple sailings.
Wind warnings were still in place on Thursday, December 26th and the risk of coastal floodings and ferry disruptions continued.
