Legendary rockers ZZ TOP are set to bring their signature blend of rock, blues, and boogie to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in 2025.
On June 1st, 2025, the classic rockers will kick off The Elevation Tour across Canada. Joining them as special guests will be The Wallflowers, making it a must-see event for classic rock fans.
Known as “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas,” ZZ TOP has spent more than half a century captivating audiences worldwide with their distinctive sound and unforgettable stage presence.
The band’s imagery—beards, hotrod cars, spinning guitars, and a legendary keychain—is as iconic as their music, transcending generations and geography.
ZZ TOP formed in Houston in 1969 when Billy Gibbons’ Moving Sidewalks merged with Frank Beard and Dusty Hill’s American Blues. Their 1973 album Tres Hombres shot them to fame with the hit “La Grange.” A decade later, 1983’s Eliminator blended blues with modern production, delivering MTV staples like “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs” and earning Diamond certification with over 10 million US sales.
Over the past five decades, they’ve performed for millions of fans across four continents and have even been immortalized in a Grammy-nominated documentary, That Little Ol’ Band From Texas. Despite the passing of Dusty Hill in 2021, the band has carried on with Elwood Francis on bass, honouring Hill’s legacy while continuing to thrill audiences around the world.
The band’s enduring success is rooted in their mantra: “Tone, Taste, and Tenacity.” Drawing inspiration from blues legends like Muddy Waters and BB King, as well as British rock icons and Jimi Hendrix, ZZ TOP has carved out a unique place in music history.
Tickets for the Victoria show and the rest of The Elevation Tour go on sale to the general public this Friday, December 13th, at 10 a.m. local time. Presales begin tomorrow, December 11th, also at 10 a.m.
