Treat your family to a festive activity and give back to your local community!
The Saanichton Village Association (SVA) is welcoming the return of the highly anticipated Saanichton Community Christmas Feeding Families event for their 20th anniversary.
Since 2004, this beloved community event has raised crucial funds for the Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank, providing much-needed support for local families.
It will take place on Saturday, December 7th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., kicking off at St. Mary Church, bringing attendees a wondrous chance to connect over holiday fun and leaning into the spirit of giving!
The festivities kick off bright and early at 9 a.m., where the Saanich Peninsula Lions Club will be serving up a delicious pancake breakfast.
Santa will be there too, so be sure to bring the little ones for a photo with jolly ol’ Saint Nick! Both breakfast and photos are by donation.

After breakfast, head over to Fresh Cup Café for a warm drink and pick up your Christmas Tree Trail Map.
From there, embark on a festive scavenger hunt to find the Tally Ho stuffed horses hidden throughout participating local businesses in the village.
Along the way, make sure to stop by Pioneer Square for free popcorn and hot chocolate, and check out the Saanichton Village Association’s tent for your trail maps and more surprises. Don’t forget to swing by Peninsula Pizza for some fresh cinnamon buns and pizza!
If you’re in the mood for some creative fun, make your way to the Saanich Pioneer Museum (located in Saanichton Green Park) for a cookie decorating session.
You can decorate cookies on-site or pick up a take-home decorating kit, perfect for some holiday fun at home. And, of course, there will be plenty of coffee and hot chocolate to keep you warm.
And now for the big news: The Tally Ho horses are back! Enjoy a magical carriage ride around the village for just $40 per group (up to six people).
All funds raised from the carriage rides will go directly to the Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank, and you’ll even receive a tax receipt for your donation. Be sure to book your carriage ride in advance here.
Join the team behind this magical event for a day full of joy, generosity, and community spirit—all for a fantastic cause!
See you there!
