Several BC Transit routes in Victoria closed or altered due to wind storm and condo fire

Share

As a result of last night’s winds, brought on by the ‘bomb cyclone’ weather system, a few BC Transit routes in the Victoria area have been impacted.

The winds have felled trees and large branches, impeding bus lanes and routes.

Additionally, a massive fire that destroyed a 77-unit condo building on Quadra Street and Palmer Road shut down the road, causing the bus route to be altered.

  • Route 61 – Ongoing delays are expected due to the current road conditions caused by the storm
  • Route 63 – Just outside Sooke, Westcoast Road is closed west of Grant Road with detours using Helgesen Road
  • Route 64 – The route between Langford and Sooke is cancelled due to downed trees and power lines
