Nanaimo RCMP investigating weekend shooting which sent one man to hospital

Nanaimo RCMP are seeking witnesses and information regarding a shooting that took place over the weekend. 

At around 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 2nd, police received a call that there had been a shooting in central Nanaimo. 

This incident resulted in an adult man being taken to hospital with “serious injuries” because of bullets entering the residence he was in. 

Police and paramedics attended the scene and the injured man was treated there before being transported to the Nanaimo hospital.

According to Nanaimo RCMP, a suspect fled the scene prior to their arrival. 

Despite police carrying out an extensive search of the area, the suspect managed to get away. 

Police say that this incident is believed to have been targeted, and there should be no further risk to the public.
