If you’re in need of a little more sparkle in your life, look no further!
The holidays are about to get a little bit merrier and a lot more brighter with the return of downtown Victoria’s largest free outdoor light display, Lights of Wonder.
Lights of Wonder will see Downtown Victoria transform Centennial Square into a holiday wonderland—the free, fun and family-friendly outdoor event will feature themed light exhibits, four interactive light tunnels, and a 40-foot festive tree.
The festive event offers live entertainment, warm nibbles, and magical light displays for all ages.
The magical light display will officially light up on Saturday, November 30th and run all of the way until December 31st, culminating in a New Year’s Eve countdown.
To celebrate the holiday season, we’ve partnered with the DVBA to give one lucky winner a $250 Downtown Victoria Gift Card—just in time for holiday shopping! You’ll find those contest details below.
This year, Lights of Wonder will also see the return of the beloved Ferris Wheel on site, which will run from December 20th and runs until the 31st.
There will be a variety of entertainment on-site on Fridays and Saturdays at Lights of Wonder, from choirs, to duets, quartets, and drag performers!
Aside from the entertainment on the stage, there will be other free activities on some days, such as Lion Dancers, Folk dancers, roaming Father and Mother Christmas, silent disco, and more—check out the full schedule of events online.
If you’re looking to capture some magic, Mr. Booth Photobooth will be onsite, with either the 360-degree camera or a Vogue photobooth for free photos.
Though this event is free, both the photobooths and ferris wheel will have the option to tap to support four charities, including: Jump Start, BCCHF, WIN, and CNIB.
On the final night of Light of Wonder, New Year’s Eve, the lights will stay on until 12:20 a.m. to help visitors ring in the New Year!
There will be two countdowns—one at 9 p.m. for families or those who want to tuck in early, and one at midnight.
As the Lights of Wonder kicks off at 4 p.m. daily, it’s the perfect way to spend an evening downtown, taking in the sights and sounds and supporting local while you’re at it!
