Get ready for the festive season to officially take over Sidney with their much-anticipated Sparkles Holiday Parade!
It will take place on December 8th at 5 p.m., taking over Beacon Avenue—the heart of downtown Sidney.
Hosted by the Peninsula Celebrations Society, the event promises to be a dazzling display of holiday cheer, complete with Christmas lights, festive floats, lively music, dancing, and, of course, a special visit from Santa Claus himself!
Thousands of people are expected to line the streets of downtown Sidney for this magical event, so be prepared for a wonderful and busy evening of family-friendly fun.

With such a large crowd expected, there will be traffic control in place to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely.
Key intersections, including Ocean Avenue and 5th Street, 7th Street and Beacon Avenue, as well as Bevan Avenue will be managed by the Town of Sidney, with measures put in place to allow for emergency vehicle access if needed.
For those relying on public transit, don’t worry—detours will be implemented, with temporary bus stops set up to accommodate affected routes.
Whether you’re there to admire the twinkling lights, catch a glimpse of Santa, or enjoy the festive atmosphere, the Sidney Sparkles Holiday Parade is an event you won’t want to miss!
If you’re hooked on festive fun after the parade, then join the Peninsula Celebration Society at their second event: the annual Polar Bear Dip at Glass Beach, scheduled for January 1st, at 12 p.m.
Everyone is encouraged to join in the fun!
