Daniel Lapp’s beloved annual Christmas concert returns to the Royal Theatre

With the holidays comes the return of many favourite annual celebrations, and Daniel Lapp’s Christmas concert is indeed one of the most beloved in Victoria!

Lapp’s Home for Christmas, presented by the Victoria Conservatory of Music, is returning for its 21st year, and will light up the Royal Theatre in Victoria on Wednesday, December 18th and Thursday, December 19th.

Round up your loved ones and celebrate the joyous season together with toe-tapping tunes, festive cheer and heartwarming musical performances.

Led by Lapp, the renowned musician, teacher, and local impresario, the concert brings together his legendary ensembles: the BC Fiddle Orchestra, Folkestra!, and the Joy of Life Choir.

They’ll be joined by Lapp’s talented colleagues and friends, who make up the Shiny H’ornaments, Strings of Lights, and Swing’n Shepherds house band.

“We are beyond excited to step firmly into an exciting new era with our second year at the Royal Theatre,” Lapp said.

“Like our beloved event, this iconic landmark embodies celebration and a special night on the town.”

This year’s Home for Christmas concert will also feature special guest stars such as award-winning writer, musician, and broadcaster Grant Lawrence, and Vancouver-based, three-time Juno-nominated artist Jill Barber.

Lawrence, known for his best-selling books and as the lead singer of The Smugglers, will bring his unique charm to the stage.

Barber, a Gold-certified singer-songwriter with a mix of folk, jazz, and pop influences, is also a global touring artist and will be representing Canada at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.

The performances will bring together a vibrant community of music lovers, from Conservatory students to alumni, as they share Canadian Coast-to-Coast Christmas-inspired songs and celebrate the season as one big musical family.

As a non-profit, all proceeds from Home for Christmas go directly to supporting music education and wellness programming at the Victoria Conservatory of Music.

This ensures that the joy of music remains accessible to all, and that students, like those performing in the concert, can continue to experience the transformative power of music-making.

Ticket prices for this event depend on seat selection, but they start at $24.50 and can be purchased here

Don’t miss out on this heartwarming holiday experience!
