Crystal Pool has been forced to temporarily close its pool area due to a mechanical issue.
The recreational facility announced this temporary closure of services via its website on Tuesday, November 12th.
The closed amenities include the entire pool area, the hot tub, sauna and steam room.
However, other areas of the rec centre remain open.
“Due to a mechanical issue, the pool is currently closed – including the hot tub, sauna and steam room,” wrote a Crystal Pool spokesperson in the public notice.
“The fitness areas remain open as usual.”
Despite the closure, Crystal Pool announced that during this closure, memberships to the pool will be accepted at all neighbouring partner facilities.
This includes all municipal rec centres as well as the downtown YMCA.
“We are working to source the parts needed for repair and anticipate reopening on November 20th,” reads the public notice.
“Please check back for status updates before your visit. Apologies for the inconvenience, your patience and understanding is appreciated.”
While Crystal Pool’s mechanical issue is being repaired, Victorians interested in learning more about the pool’s replacement project can find the details at two information kiosks in the Bay Centre and Mayfair Mall.
Additionally, the City of Victoria’s website has a myriad of details regarding the project.
