The holiday season is about to shine in Victoria!
On Sunday, December 1st, Butchart Gardens will officially kick off their beloved Magic of Christmas with a dazzling light-up ceremony at 5 p.m. in front of the Rose Carousel.
This cherished annual tradition transforms Victoria’s most iconic attraction into a winter wonderland, with thousands of twinkling lights, lush greenery, and festive music filling the gardens.
Guests can enjoy free carousel rides on the night of the light-up, live performances by traditional carollers and Festive Brass, and the enchanting atmosphere of Christmas magic.
Following the light-up, visitors are invited to stroll the illuminated pathways and immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of the season.
Starting December 2nd, Magic of Christmas hours at the Butchart Gardens run daily from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., giving everyone the chance to experience the wonder through early January.
Months of preparation by dedicated staff go into making this event truly spectacular — and it’s no wonder it’s a holiday favourite for so many.
