Cheers to arriving at the weekend, Victoria!

Holiday prep is in full swing, and this weekend you’ll get to take your pick of a wide variety of local markets and Christmasy sights—including the annual Festival of Trees at the Bay Centre.

If you’re looking to dance, DJ Natty and Mr. Moe will be spinning at Lucky Bar and promise a night of thumping bass and high energy!

Whether you’re checking holiday shopping off of your list, catching live music or a theatrical performance, the city has it all!

Without further ado, here’s 9 things to do in and around Victoria this weekend—November 16th and 17th:

Festival of Trees

The Festival of Trees has been a beloved holiday tradition on Vancouver Island for over 30 years, celebrating community support for BC Children’s Hospital with beautifully decorated trees.

This year’s event will feature up to 100 sponsored trees, and they’ll remain on display from November 15th to January 5th.

The Bay Centre invites the community to enjoy the display, vote for their favorite trees, and help raise vital funds for BC’s children!

CREAM Winter Market

Get your holiday shopping done while supporting local small businesses!

CREAM life + Style is back with another iconic annual market with over 20 vendors all cozied up in the Fernwood Hub, and each day will feature different vendors.

There will even be a food truck present!

  •  Where: The Fernwood Hub, 1310 Gladstone Avenue
  • When: Saturday, November 16th and Sunday, November 17th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Handmade Village Craft Market

The Handmade Village Craft Market is a curated market featuring 50 local vendors you’re invited!

All of the makers will have plenty of art, clothing, baked goods, jewelry, candles, bath & body skincare, upcycled items, wood art, kids & baby apparel to toys, homewares, Christmas decor/items, ceramics, knits, hair accessories and pet items!

There will be a food truck and coffee truck on site, and they’ll be accepting monetary donations, as well as non-perishable foods and toiletries for the Mustard Seed Food Bank.

Plus, it’s free admission!

DJ Natty & Mr. Moe at Lucky Bar

Looking to dance? Lucky Bar can set you free!

RealEyes is thrilled to present DJ Natty and Mr. Moe—two of the most recognizable and respected names in Victoria’s dance music scene.

With decades of experience between them they are both masters of their craft and favourites amongst dancers and fellow artists.

Tickets are just under $22 and can be purchased here.

Merridale Cidery Christmas Night Market

For one night only, Merridale Cidery will be hosting a Shopping Night in the essence of an old European Holiday Market.

Enjoy complimentary samples of the Merridale spirits, including a brand new release that they haven’t even announced yet, nibble on some of our housemade Merridale Makes kitchen items, shop directly from local makers and more!

Get your holiday shopping started early and take home a little something for the craft lovers, the beverage connoisseurs, the foodies, and the impossible to shop for.

What’s Wrong with J McLaughlin: Episode 4

J McLaughlin has been entertaining, enthralling & occasionally terrorizing burlesque, stand-up, theatrical and music audiences for over 25 years.

This is the latest installment in their ongoing series of original solo shows, so join McLaughlin and the crew at Intrepid Theatre for an unforgettable evening of live performance.

General admission is $25 and they also offer pay-what-you-ten tickets, where a certain amount of tickets are sold for $10.

Westshore Craft Crawl

The Westshore Craft Crawl is presenting a super unique and fun way to holiday market shop!

It’s outdoor, drive-around-style with 10-12 central locations set up for your shopping pleasure, featuring a ton of goodies waiting to be discovered.

Follow the map, set your route and your own pace!

Full Moon Nervous System Reset

If you’ve been looking for a full mind and body reset, we may have something for you.

Silent DJ Victoria is inviting you to gather with them on the full Beaver moon and practice a parasympathetic nervous system strategies. This will be followed by a healing and releasing ecstatic dance wave, ending in an hour-long sound bath with acupuncture.

You can listen on the indoor speaker system or wear our silent disco headsets and control your own volume. The event organizer asks that everyone bring water, mug for tea, warm layers, yoga mat, blanket, pillows, and an eye mask, if you’d like.

Tickets are $45 online and $50 in person. They’re limited to 30 spots.
