6-year-old Victoria boy co-starring in a Christmas film being released this weekend

Miles Marthaller is a 6-year-old boy who has acted in several TV shows and movies over the past two years.

He is the younger brother of 9-year-old Remy Marthaller, who has also been acting since a young age, having the opportunity to be in some high profile projects, and even won some awards.

Following in his sister’s footsteps, Miles’ first big co-starring role in a movie will see the light of day when it is released this weekend, on Saturday, November 23rd.

The Hallmark Channel-produced film is titled Three Wiser Men and a Boy, which is a sequel to 2022’s Three Wise Men and a Baby

Miles’ role was to play Thomas, who is being cared for by three brothers. The synopsis of the film says that these brothers are forced to help Thomas with his school musical after the director quits.

Through the movie, the group must also navigate Miles’ character’s mom, Barbara, and her new boyfriend, with family dynamics turning chaotic during the Christmas season.

Miles says that his favourite part of being in this movie was getting to pal around with the other kids and actors on set.

“The laser tag was the bestest,” Miles told Victoria Buzz.

His father, Robert Marthaller explained that Miles got to play laser tag for a scene in the Three Wiser Men and a Boy.

This film isn’t the only project that Miles has been working on. He was also cast to play a potentially recurring role in an Amazon MGM series The Nightbeast, he is in an episode CTV’s Sight Unseen which is yet to be released and he plays the eldest of eight children in the Lifetime TV movie, I was Octomom.

Robert says that he views acting just as a parent would view any extra curricular activity, like sports or a club.

“They say a lot of this stuff has a shelf life. If you play piano for six years, you might not like it anymore. If the same thing happens with acting and they decide, ‘you know it was fun to be a child actor but I’m not really interested in that,’ then no problem,” explained Robert.

“As long as they’re interested, they can keep doing it and as soon as they’re not interested they don’t have to.”

For now, Miles loves being an actor, but the time it takes to go from production to release can seem like a long time for a first grader.

“I like filming with the persons [sic] who are filming with me,” Miles said about working with the filming crews.

Robert added, “Most of his bigger stuff he hasn’t seen yet.”

Three Wiser Men and a Boy is being released on Saturday, November 23rd via the Hallmark Channel and will be available through certain third party subscriptions.
