In a tale that sounds like something straight out of a Jurassic Park movie, a T-Rex statue stolen from a prehistoric-themed business in Langford has been safely returned.
The life-size dinosaur figure was located thanks to a sharp-eyed RCMP officer and a few helpful community tips.
Reported stolen on October 2nd, the T-Rex statue had actually been missing for several weeks prior.
The disappearance had left the business, which is dedicated to all things Jurassic, short one of its signature attractions.
In a “dino-mite” turn of events, as described by West Shore RCMP, the T-Rex’s return came after an officer, responding to an unrelated call, recalled seeing the statue.
Acting on the memory, the officer revisited the location and recovered the T-Rex from an individual who claimed to have purchased it second-hand.

There won’t be any charges in this case as police are unable to determine exactly who stole the dinosaur. However, police credit the community for assisting in the investigation by providing tips that helped track down the misplaced prehistoric predator.
Although the thief remains at large, the dinosaur is now back in its rightful place, much to the relief of the business and its visitors.
