Suspect charged with manslaughter in death of 33-year-old Duncan man

A suspect has been arrested and charged with manslaughter for allegedly stabbing a 33-year-old Duncan man to death in July, 2022. 

Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) arrested 53-year-old Todd White on Thursday, October 17th. 

White allegedly stabbed a 33-year-old male victim to death in Duncan on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at around 3 a.m.

When North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP received the call that there had been a stabbing in July 2022, officers responded to find an injured man in the area of Kenneth Street and Jubilee Street.

The victim was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, according to police. 

VIIMCU soon took over the investigation, with support from North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP.

Police say that this matter is now before the courts, so no further information can be released.

White remains in custody at this time awaiting a court date.
