7 places in Victoria hosting trick-or-treating events for kids this Halloween

You’ve been waiting all month to strut your costume, and that time has finally arrived!

Gather your little dressed-up goblins, ghouls, princesses and witches and hit the town—Victoria Buzz has compiled a wonderfully sweet list of locations that will be handing out candy to the kids this Halloween!

From community events to candy jackpots at different shopping centres, there’s plenty for the whole family to enjoy.

Without further delay, here’s 7 locations in and around Victoria that are handing out treats on Halloween:

Sidney’s Treat Street

Residents and visitors of Sidney alike, you won’t want to miss this candy extravaganza!

Popular in the community for a reason, downtown Sidney closes to traffic for the evening so all the ghosts, goblins and princesses get to enjoy trick-or-treating with family.

Pop around to all of the different businesses and treat stations this Halloween!

Treat Street (Town of Sidney)
  • Where: Downtown Sidney
  • When: Thursday, October 31st from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Halloween Firehall Spooktacular

Join the Esquimalt Parks and Recreation and the Esquimalt Firehall for a night of Halloween fun!

There will be a variety of family-friendly activities running from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., including an outdoor movie, bouncy castle, and trick-or-treating with the firefighters.

Additionally, the Esquimalt Lion’s will also have a concession open with hot dogs and chocolate available.

Westshore Town Centre

The Westshore Town Centre is inviting everyone over for a fa-boo-lous time this Halloween!

Costumed children are invited to trick-or-treat at all of the participating retailers from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., while supplies last.

If you’re in need of a break from the candy hunt, you can enjoy a complimentary goblet of Witches Brew at Bubble Bus (one per person).

Don’t forget to swing over to their pumpkin patch near Dollarama to vote on your favourite jack-o-lantern, carved by retailers at Westshore Town Centre!

Uptown Shopping Centre

Dress up in your best costume and strut your stuff around Uptown Shopping Centre!

Take the little ones on a stroll around Uptown from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and visit the 20+ participating businesses.

There’s also going to be a special Princess Meet & Greet happening!

Trick-or-Treat in the Village

Oak Bay Village is pleased to welcome families back for their Trick-or-Treat event!

Over 50 businesses from Foul Bay Road to Monterey Avenue will be participating, just look for the pumpkin poster in their window!

There will be music by Gravitation and Friends, a photo booth, games and more—including an opportunity to hit a target with a real fire hose with the Oak Bay Fire Department.

There’s a Pet Costume Contest in front of Engel and Volkers at 4 p.m., so don’t forget to dress up your fuzzy friends and show them off!

Treat Street in Langford

Hosted by the Langford Fire Department, they’re welcoming all costumed kidlets and family members to their annual Treat Street at the Langford Station!

From 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. trick or treating, free hot dogs, live music, hot chocolate and treats, live music, photo opportunities, games, and more will be available for your enjoyment.

They’re encouraging everyone to bring a donation for the Goldstream Foodbank!

Trick or Treating at the Parliament Building

Step up to the historic Parliament Building for some Halloween fun.

Children and families are invited to join the Parliament Building in downtown Victoria for some delicious treats and festive activities!

The event begins inside the Main Entrance at 3 p.m. and runs until 4:30 p.m.
