The BC Ale Trail is doing their first ever ‘Best Beer Community’ competition throughout British Columbia and Victoria could be the winner with your help!
This is a competition where the power will be put into the people’s hands and beer-lovers from across the province can have their say on what region brews the best.
However, BC Ale Trail says this isn’t just about the beers themselves.
“It’s about the vibrant, spirited communities that bring them to life,” said the organization in a media release.
There are three categories the communities of BC can win in:
- Communities with one to two breweries
- Communities with three to five breweries
- Communities with over six breweries
Victoria would be in the over six category, as there are seven breweries in Victoria. In the entire Greater Victoria region, there are 21 breweries.

However, the competition will be fierce. Victoria will be pitted against communities like Vancouver, Kelowna and more.
The public will be able to cast their votes anytime between September 9th and October 6th.
Once the votes are in, the winning communities will be announced at the BC Beer Con, where leaders of the brewing industry gather during BC Craft Beer Month.
Those who cast votes will be eligible to win a grand prize ‘Sip + Stay’ package, which includes perks like complimentary accommodations, swag and attraction passes.
As for the communities that win, it’s all about the bragging rights. Plus, BC Ale Trail will create exclusive content about the breweries in the winning regions to help them gain more exposure.
