Comox Valley RCMP are actively seeking public assistance in their investigation of an alleged assault that took place in Courtenay in mid-June.
The incident occurred on Huband Road on June 15th; however, the victim waited until the following day to report it to the police.
According to police, the woman stated that while she was outside her residence around 10:30 p.m. closing her gate, a man grabbed her arm. She claimed she struck the man in the head and then retreated inside her home.
The suspect is described as a man in his 40s, approximately 5’8″ to 5’9″ tall, with a scruffy beard and an average build. He was wearing a black hoodie with white writing at the time of the incident.
Constable Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer for the Comox Valley RCMP, emphasized the importance of gathering comprehensive information to clarify the circumstances of the assault. “Our primary goal is to gather all available information to ensure a thorough and accurate investigation,” said Constable Terragni.
