An investigation by VicPD officers across two separate cases resulted in the seizure of an assortment of weapons—including a loaded handgun, stun guns, bear spray and more.
On Monday, July 15th at around 1 a.m., police were conducting patrols in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue when they were alerted to an alleged physical altercation between two women.
The victim was found lying on the ground while the suspect fled to a nearby tent. During the suspect’s arrest, officers noticed multiple weapons placed around the tent.
The weapons included the following:
- 3 Cans of Bear Spray
- 1 Baton
- 2 Machetes
- 8 Knives
- 1 Hatchet
Additionally, they found a loaded handgun, cash and drugs in a bag next to the tent.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and this incident remains under investigation.
The 900-block of Pandora has become the centre of attention in the media recently after an incident saw a paramedic kicked in the face while aiding a person.
Police say the incident led to emergency responders being swarmed by bystanders causing a significant amount of police to be dispatched to the area.
Since that time, paramedics are now required to have a police escort in the area.

In another recent incident that occurred at around 11 a.m. on Friday, July 12th VicPD was called to the 1400-block of Fairfield Road for a man reportedly chasing and threatening two people with a taser.
The suspect fled in a vehicle prior to the police’s arrival, but was located and arrested in the 500-block of Ellice Street just after 3 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16th.
Two hand-held stun guns were located inside the vehicle and the man was held in custody for a court appearance.
“We continue to be concerned with the level of violence and weapons associated with drug trafficking in our communities. Our officers are seeing people, some who are not sheltering outdoors, using tents and other structures to traffic drugs, conceal weapons and target vulnerable people,” says Chief Del Manak.
“Our officers will continue to conduct proactive patrols and target violent offenders in our communities.”
