A prohibited driver was injured when he crashed his uninsured motorcycle into a curb in Langford Thursday night.
On July 25th at approximately 6:18 p.m., West Shore RCMP responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at the intersection of Millstream Road and Hoylake Avenue in Langford.
According to a witness, the motorcycle, operated by a 47-year-old male, took a wide turn, struck the curb, and subsequently fell onto its side.
Emergency Health Services attended the scene, and the driver was transported to the hospital with injuries.
Upon investigation, officers discovered that the driver was prohibited from driving and that the motorcycle had been uninsured since October 2023.
Additionally, police suspected that the driver had been consuming alcohol and requested a a breathalyzer, which the driver refused.
He was arrested for prohibited driving and refusing to provide a breath sample. He was also charged for driving with no insurance, which comes with a $698 fine.
The motorcycle was towed and impounded for seven days and will require an inspection due to the damage incurred during the collision.
