An attack in downtown Victoria Thursday night drew a large police response from multiple municipalities.

According to VicPD, at 7:50 p.m. this evening police responded to a call for assistance to paramedics (EHS) in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue.

EHS members and Victoria Fire Department (VFD) were providing medical assistance to a person when they were attacked.

Responding police officers arrested the attacker, which resulted in a situation that required a significant response from VicPD, Oak Bay Police, Saanich Police and West Shore RCMP to maintain order and ensure VFD and EHS members could safely leave the area.

VicPD said the incident is resolved and cleared.

Witnesses say they saw a man tasered before being arrested.

Some reported upwards of 15 police cruisers on scene.

Victoria Buzz has reached out to BC Ambulance Service to see if any of their members were injured.

More to come.
