This Friday is going to be a big one, Victoria!

Family Day long weekend festivities will be kicking off for a lot of organizations, so take advantage of the extended celebrations and head downtown.

The Winter Arts Festival will be kicking off and continuing through until Monday and the City of Langford is also launching their events Friday too!

If you’re looking for something different, there’s an 80s dance party at Lucky Bar, a sequel to popular drag show, Heartbreak Hotel, and much more!

Here’s 5 things to do in and around Victoria on Friday, February 16th:

Victoria Royals Game

The Victoria Royals will celebrate the Lunar New Year in style this weekend with a pair of home games against the Kelowna Rockets.

Puck drop on Friday is set for 7:05 p.m., while Saturday’s game starts at 6:05 p.m.

With festivities planned, fans will be able to enjoy plenty around the arena this weekend, with door prize giveaways scheduled for both Friday and Saturday games, as well as local artists present around the arena.

Winter Arts Festival

Starting this Friday, February 16th, arts, music, colour, and sound will be strewn across the city in a way like never before. The festival’s installations will stretch from Hermann’s Upstairs to the Royal BC Museum (RBCM) and all along the waterfront to Herald Street.

With its heart being located at Herald Street Brew Works, the Winter Arts Festival will have 20 installations total, including six “anchor points” with massive artistic expressions created by a mix of local and touring talent.

Aside from one “After Dark” performance at Hermann’s Upstairs and the official Art Walk tours offered by Discover The Past Tours, the entire festival is free for all who wish to inject their lives with art, sound and colour as Victoria navigates its winter-time blues.

Family Day in Langford

Langford is kicking off their Family Day long weekend celebrations this Friday, so you can enjoy the festivities for longer!

Enjoy their storybook walks, a free coding class, an indoor playground and bouncy castle, family swimming, and much more.

Heartbreak Hotel 2: The Rebound

After last year’s successful shows in both Victoria and Campbell River, Drag in Concept is back with a Valentine’s edition of the hit immersive drag show, Heartbreak Hotel.

Check into the Heartbreak Hotel 2: The Rebound, on Friday, February 16th at the Wicket Hall and prepare yourself for an evening of high drama, laughter, and the never-ending search for a lovesick cure.

The original leading ladies Aria Okay, Henrietta Dubét, Jackbox Jayne, and Ket Bush are back with a highly anticipated SHE-quel!

80s Dance Party at Lucky Bar

Get ready for the ultimate Friday night dance party at Lucky Bar!

They’re hosting an 80s night with DJs Low and Levi Hawk—they’ll be playing all of the classics such as Devo, Wham!, Soft Cell, A-Ha, Eurythmics, Men at Work, and of course David Bowie, MJ, Madonna, Blondie, and many more!
