BC Transit’s ‘Stuff the Bus’ project will cruise into Saanich this Saturday

Are you excited for the season of giving, Victoria?

In the spirit of the holidays, it’s important to remember that connection, togetherness, and generosity towards those in need is what it’s all about.

This year, BC Transit is inviting the public to help them stuff a double-decker bus full of holiday cheer on Saturday, December 2nd!

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the double-decker will be parked up at the Save-On-Foods at the Tillicum Mall with volunteers collecting non-perishable food items, new, unused toys, and clothing.

All donations will benefit the Mustard Seed Food Bank and the Salvation Army, helping families in need this holiday season.

Bring new and unwrapped toys such as Barbie Dolls, Trains’ n’ Trucks, Nerf, Transformers, Star Wars, LEGO, Action figure, Shopkins, Hatchables, Cool Socks, Gloves and Scarves, and Board Games.

If you have some canned goods or other nonperishable food items, they’ll happily accept whatever you can spare.

Any clothing you wish to bring should be new.

BC Transit is unable to offer other traditions such as the Santa Bus that usually comes with the holiday season, but they’re hoping to bring it back in 2024!

If you wish to find other ways to assist the community this holiday season, you can check out this article we wrote to give Victorians a comprehensive list of ideas for giving back.
