VicPD have officially ruled the fire that destroyed Ricky’s All Day Grill as arson.
At around 3 a.m. on June 16th, Victoria firefighters responded to a fire reported on Douglas Street and Burnside Road at Ricky’s All Day Grill with police close behind them.
After putting out the fire, VicPD’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) deemed the fire as suspicious as they worked with firefighters to determine the cause of the blaze amongst the building’s extensive damage.
Now, VicPD say the fire was intentionally set and the MCU is investigating the case as arson.
Police are seeking any dashcam footage from the area between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 3:15 a.m. on June 16th to come forward in hopes it might help their investigation.
The building which Ricky’s occupied has been up for sale for $2.8 million.
According to VicPD, the investigation remains on-going.
