Totem pole at Royal Roads University vandalized with ‘hateful’ graffiti

A totem pole in Colwood has been vandalized over the holidays by what police are describing as “disturbing” and “hateful” graffiti.

West Shore RCMP received a report of graffiti that took place on or just before December 26th at Royal Roads University.

Police attended the scene at 2005 Sooke Road and determined that a totem pole as well as several signs had been spray painted with graffiti.

According to police, the graffiti has since been removed.

“Police are asking anyone who witnessed this take place or has information regarding this crime to come forward and speak to police,” said Cpl. Nancy Saggar, West Shore RCMP Media Relations.
