Nanaimo man hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times: RCMP

A man in Nanaimo was stabbed multiple times in the early hours of Thursday morning.

On November 24th at around 4:30 a.m., Nanaimo RCMP responded to the area of 5th and Bruce Avenue.

“One individual, an adult male received multiple stab wounds that are serious but non life-threatening,” R/Cst. Gary O’Brien told Victoria Buzz.

“He was taken to the hospital where he currently remains.”

Police say the scene was closed for several hours while RCMP officers investigated.

CCTV footage is currently being gathered for the investigation into the stabbing, according to police. 

“At this point no arrests have been made, but we do not believe there is any risk to the public,” said O’Brien.

Police say more information will be released later in the afternoon on Thursday which will shed more light on this incident.
