Victoria Harbourcats cancel 2020 season due to COVID-19 pandemic

The Victoria HarbourCats has announced that their 2020 season will be delayed until summer 2021, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The season’s postponement is largely due to the current provincial restrictions on large group events, which prohibit gatherings over 50 people.

The Victoria baseball team joins the Bend Elks, Kelowna Falcons, Bellingham Bells and Corvallis Knights in being unable to participate in 2020 due to health directives.

The HarbourCats eighth season was slated to kick off on Friday, June 9th, 2020.

In a statement, the HarbourCats say they look forward to a strong return in 2021, when they anticipate being joined on Vancouver Island by the recently announced Nanaimo baseball team, which was to be officially named this summer.

Information on 2021 HarbourCats season tickets will be available soon, and you can still show your support for the HarbourCats this season by purchasing merchandise and gift cards online.

Fans are encouraged to visit the team’s website for information about ticket exchanges for 2021.
