VicPD continues investigation into Bay Street shooting incident

Victoria Police are continuing their investigation into a shooting incident that occurred on Bay Street Tuesday afternoon.

According to an update on Thursday, no arrests have yet been made after a man was shot outside a Fernwood residence on August 6th.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. in the 1500-block of Bay St, and at the time, officers closed the area off to traffic for several while carrying out their investigation.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment once police arrived on site.

Officers do not believe this was a random incident, and assured media that there is no indication of a danger to residents in that area at this time.

The case is in the early stages of investigation.
