BC Transit adds seasonal service to popular summer destinations

Share

For those who want to visit tourist attractions over the summer without the hassle of having to find a parking spot, BC Transit is about to expand several routes to help ease the burden.

As of July 2nd, the crown corporation will be increasing their service on several routes to Thetis Lake, Butchart Gardens, and the Swartz Bay ferry terminal.

At the same time, they will be scaling back on service to post-secondary institutions as ridership to UVic slows down over the summer.

Here are the upcoming changes:

  • Expanded weekday and weekend service on route 53 Langford Exchange/Colwood Exchange (serving Thetis Lake)

  • Additional weekend service on route 70 Swartz Bay/Downtown

  • Improved weekend service on routes 75 Royal Oak/Downtown/Saanichton and 81 Swartz Bay/Butchart Gardens

  • Cancellation of routes 16 Uptown/UVic and 17 Cedar Hill.

Regular service will resume in the fall.
