James Bay Tea Room and Restaurant to close for good

Share

If you’ve walked past the James Bay Tea Room and Restaurant recently, you probably noticed the brown paper covering up its windows.

The café has been a James Bay staple for the past 32 years. It was renovated and upgraded in 2013 by Calgary father-daughter duo John and Heather MacPhee.

But now it looks like the business might be closing for good. Here’s what the writing on the door says:

“Chloe & Chantale: Dad can you open a funky Diner again in James Bay?
Dad: What a great idea kids!”

Rumor has it that the restaurant will be converted into a third location of Floyd’s Diner, in addition to the ones downtown and in Langford.

We are awaiting confirmation from the owners, but for now it looks like we’ll be saying goodbye to the old restaurant.

Are you sad to see James Bay Tea Room and Restaurant go?
