Housing in Victoria remains as hot a commodity as ever, but in a few years time, over 200 more people will be able to call James Bay home.

The City of Victoria recently approved plans to convert the Harbour Towers Hotel & Suites into 219 rental apartments.

Located at 345 Quebec Street, the structure will undergo significant renovations over approximately the next 20 months.

Originally built in the 1970s, the hotel currently contains 189 rooms in its thirteen stories.

Work Expected to Start This Fall

Omicron Canada, the company behind the conversion, is expected to start renovations this fall.

Studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom suites (including 15 penthouses) will range between 301 – 1,313 square feet

The building’s exterior won’t undergo many changes, but the interior – especially the lower floors – will be redesigned to create extra residences.
