If you’re looking to support a good cause this weekend, Uptown Shopping Centre is where you’ll want to be!
From Friday, May 4 to Sunday, May 6, Victoria law enforcement personnel will camp out on scaffolding in the Uptown town plaza while members from local law enforcement agencies collect donations to “free the fuzz.”
The funds are in support of Special Olympics BC, which has worked for 35 years to enrich the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.
There will also be a five-kilometre BC Law Enforcement Torch Run to raise even more awareness for the organization.
The torch run will begin at Uptown at 9 a.m Sunday, and head onto the Galloping Goose before returning to Uptown for a pancake breakfast.
But that’s not all you can get up to while you’re there. Plenty of family-friendly activities are on offer, including a dunk tank, face painting, K9 demonstrations, and live music from local musicians Stephanie Greaves and Darcy Phillips (Friday) and Bush League (Saturday).
Pls join us 4 our fundraising event 4 @sobcsociety May 4-6 @uptown. Register for our family #funrun with a pancake breakfast to follow on May 6th. Lots to see.
