Book Launch! Being 2.0: On Culture, Belonging, and Identity
March 6 @ 5:00 pm
Join us for the launch of my new book, Being 2.0, On Culture, Belonging, and Identity!
Being 2.0 is a book that explores the complexity of biculturalism and proposes an analysis of cultures, and how disconnection, as an inherent part of modern life, results in issues of identify, culture, and belonging.
Laura Leavitt, reviewer in the social science section of Foreword Clarion Reviews wrote that this “[…] is an autobiographical philosophical treatise that advocates for a more humane, connected existence in a technological, isolated capitalistic world.
[I]n its philosophical depth it reveals surprising and insightful ways for coping with modern malaise.”

—- Agenda of the Evening —
We will open the evening by a short introduction, I will then be sharing about the book and the writing process. We will continue with a Q&A session, and open a conversation with the group.
We will close the evening with some social time.
The event is the opportunity for you to reflect on questions about identity and belonging. To foster rich conversations, take a moment to ask yourself the following questions:
• Do you feel at « home » in the city you live in? Why this is/isn’t the case?
• What parts of yourself do you consider to be culturally conditioned?
• How do you value or not value that conditioning?
• What is there of you outside of your cultural conditioning and what does that part of yourself mean to you?
• To which degree the culture you are in shapes you?
• What to bring?
Bring some water, pen, and notebook
• Important to know
Both hardcovers and softcovers will be available for purchase:
$25 for hardcovers, and $20 for paperbacks.
Looking forward to see you all!
