Bring on the cruise ships!

This week is set to be a busy one, bringing in a total of 12 boats into Victoria’s Ogden Point Terminal and thousands of eager passengers, ready to explore what our city has to offer.

In total, Victoria is expected to welcome just under 32,000 people to our shores—we have a feeling the downtown core will be packed!

To kick off this week’s arrivals, the unique National Geographic Quest ship will be bringing in 100 passengers on Wednesday, May 8th at 8 a.m. This small ship is not to be underestimated, however.

It’s a fully stabilized, nimble vessel that was specifically designed to meet the precise needs of their unique expeditions—featuring the latest satellite and navigation technology, reinforced Zodiacs, a mudroom, and a superior viewing experience on decks and in common areas.

One of their upcoming trips includes a voyage to Panama and Colombia, where guests will explore the Caribbean Coast up close.

There’s also another cruise ship slated to arrive on Wednesday, May 8th, the Carnival Luminosa—expected to arrive at 8 p.m. with 2260 passengers.

The cruise ships to follow are as such:

  • Thursday, May 9th at 3 p.m.: Celebrity Summit with 2218 passengers
  • Thursday, May 9th at 7:30 p.m.: Norwegian Sun with 1936 passengers
  • Friday, May 10th at 11 a.m.: Majestic Princess with 3560 passengers
  • Friday, May 10th at 7:30 p.m.: Norwegian Bliss with 4250 passengers
  • Friday, May 10th at 8 p.m.: Eurodam with 2104 passengers
  • Saturday, May 11th at 8 a.m.: Westerdam with 1840 passengers
  • Saturday, May 11th at 7:30 p.m.: Norwegian Encore with 3998 passengers
  • Sunday, May 12th at 10 a.m.: Disney Wonder with 2400 passengers
  • Sunday, May 12th at 2 p.m.: Crown Princess with 3080 passengers
  • Sunday, May 12th at 5 p.m.: Quantum of the Seas with 4180 passengers

The last ship of the week, the Quantum of the Seas with 4180 passengers, is said to be the third largest operating cruise ship by gross tonnage.

Not only can it house nearly 5,000 guests, it has a Royal Theatre, a simulated skydiving room, laser tag arena, rock climbing wall, video arcade and much more on top of the expected pools and dining amenities.

Now that is smooth sailing!
