Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to visit Victoria this Thursday.
Canada’s 23rd Prime Minister is coming to the island to attend a Liberal Party fundraising event at the Delta Ocean Pointe Resort.
The fundraising event, called In Conversation with the Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau, is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
Anyone interested in hearing the Prime Minister speak can purchase tickets to the event for $300, or $100 for registered members of the Liberal Party’s Laurier Club.
“With the 2019 election just months away, we are pleased to invite you to an evening with the Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau in support of the Liberal Party of Canada,” reads the event description.
“This event is an exciting opportunity to hear from Justin Trudeau as we count down to the campaign – and to show your support as we prepare to elect even more Liberal MPs from British Columbia in this year’s important election campaign.”
Trudeau’s visit on Thursday will not be the first time that the Prime Minister has come to Vancouver Island. Besides repeated family vacations to Tofino, Trudeau visited Duncan in August 2018 and the Canadian Coast Guard Base in James Bay in April of last year.
