Today is going to be a good day!

Here are 5 things to do in and around Victoria today!

Practice On The Page: A Writing Workshop with Danielle Pope

What: Find the story you’re meant to write.
Practice On The Page is your chance to stretch your writing muscles, get inspired and let your creative side come out to play.
This all-levels workshop offers you a safe space to find your voice and nurture the stories your heart has been waiting to share. Danielle Pope, The Story Midwife, will guide you through a progressive series of grounding activities, writing exercises, prompts and reading opportunities to get your words flowing, deepen your level of self expression and give you the tools to develop a practice.
Where: Picot Studio
561 Johnson Street
When: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Cost: $35

Spacetapes at Centennial Square

What: City of Victoria Lunchtime Concert Series: Bring your lunch and some sunscreen and soak up some sun and free tunes this summer. From classical to world beat, folk to jazz and baroque to blues, there’s something for everyone.
Where: Centennial Square
When: 12 pm – 1 pm
Cost: Free!

Fort Common Markets

What: Come down for the first season of Fort Common Markets!  The markets will feature locally made goods that emphasize the creative and skilled minds of Victoria.  Our vision is to create space that contributes to and collaborates with the local community and economy.
Where: Fort Commons Courtyard
1019 Blanshard Street
When: 3 pm – 8 pm

Free Drumming Workshop

What: The free drumming workshop is one of the most popular ongoing music events in Victoria. Drums are provided for everyone, but if you do have your own a drum, you are invited to bring it along.
Everyone is welcome, and you don’t need to have ever played a drum before. The rhythms we play are powerful and surprisingly easy to learn.
You are also welcome to bring a recording device to tape the workshop for your own reference.
Where: Fairfield United
1303 Fairfield Rd
When: 7 pm – 8:30 pm
Cost: Free!

Esquimalt Farmers Market Outdoor Season!

What: Shoppers will find a wide selection of freshly harvested seasonal fruits and vegetables, ethically raised meat, chicken and duck eggs, cheese, fresh baked breads and other baked goods, a variety of prepared foods, preserves and beverages, vegan foods, local beer, wine, cider and spirit, and a range of handmade artisan items, including clothing, body products, jewellery and art!
Where: Esquimalt Farmers Market
