Le Dîner en Blanc returns to Victoria for its sixth year

Share

For five years, Le Dîner en Blanc has built a reputation as the foodie event for Victorians looking to get a little fancy.

Get your all-white attire ready, because on Friday, July 27, it’s coming back for round six.

The dinner has been held at five iconic Victoria locations since the first event at St. Ann’s Academy in 2013. Since then, 1,500 have attended each year at Fisherman’s Wharf, Ship’s Point, the Delta Ocean Pointe Hotel, and Centennial Square.

The location is kept a secret until the very last minute, at which point ticket holders will be directed to specific meeting points. From there, they’ll walk or bus to this year’s location.

Once there, diners will be greeted with an elegant soirée, including folding tables and chairs, gourmet picnic food, fine china, silverware, and tablecloths.

Diners can pack their own picnics, or order from the extravagant gourmet menu ahead of time.

There’ll be live music and dancing too, of course.

“The people of Victoria have truly embraced this event because they love the surprise, spectacle and the opportunity to show up and celebrate in an outdoor space that’s available for just one evening,” said Aidan Henry, owner of Brink Events, which hosts the dinner.

“It will be an exciting time to be in the city while locals and visitors are enjoying all that Victoria has to offer,” Henry says. “We have heard from so many people who can’t wait to attend. Many will be returning, some for the sixth time, but we’re also anticipating a lot of new guests.”
