Whole Foods Market is bringing a mochi ice cream bar to Victoria

Whole Foods Market is about to share the love: the grocery store is bringing its mochi ice cream bars to five B.C. locations, including Victoria.

Until now, Whole Foods only offered the popular self-serve ice cream bar at its North Vancouver location.

“The customer response was overwhelming and we’re thrilled to roll out the program to an additional 11 Canadian Whole Foods Market locations just in time for summer,” said Andy Sasser, global category manager at Whole Foods Market.

If you’re unfamiliar (because we certainly were), mochi ice cream is a popular Japanese-inspired dessert made by covering bite-sized balls of creamy vegan ice cream with a sweet rice dough.

Individual ice creams are available in a variety of flavours, and are found in self-serve cases (seen below). Flavours include chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and salted caramel, as well as rotating seasonal flavours.

An individual ice cream will cost you $2.29, but c’mon, you’re going to spring for six at $12.99, right?
