The Malahat is open to single-lane traffic in both directions after a fatal vehicle accident north of Aspen Road on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 1 p.m.
RCMP confirmed witness reports of one death at the scene.
The B.C. Ambulance Service said two people were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
The Malahat was initially closed in both directions while emergency crews assessed the situation.
