Disappearance of two Vancouver Island men now deemed suspicious

Share

Ucluelet RCMP have officially deemed that the disappearance of Daniel Archibald, 37, and Ryan Daley, 43 is suspicious, and their case is now being handled by the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU).

The two men were on a sailboat that docked in Ucluelet on May 13th. They were last seen on security camera footage leaving the Ucluelet dock on foot at around 1:34 p.m on May 16. Neither men have had any contact with family and friends since leaving the dock.

Since then, RCMP officers’ efforts to locate them included a search of the area in which they were last seen by the local Search and Rescue team, as well as an aerial search, with no luck.

“We ask anyone who has any information as to Daniel and Ryan’s whereabouts or anyone who may have seen them or talked to them between May 13 to 16 to call police immediately”, says Cpl. Madonna Saunderson.

“We are continuing our investigation into Daniel and Ryan’s disappearance and have no evidence to suggest that this case is linked to any other missing person investigation at this time”.
