RCMP seek info on vehicle involved in a hit-and-run in Nanaimo

Police are seeking help in identifying the driver of a white Volkswagen Jetta with Alberta license plates that was involved in a hit-and-run in Nanaimo two weeks ago.

In a media release, Nanaimo RCMP said the incident happened at Franklyn Street and Selby Street at around 7:45 p.m. on May 29.

Police determined that the Jetta side-swiped the driver’s side of a Pontiac Sunfire after failing to yield at the intersection.

The driver of the Sunfire and several bystanders told police they saw two men inside the Jetta that was last seen driving towards Fitzwilliam Street.

There was significant damage to the Jetta’s passenger side.
