Three new sets of bus pullouts for Highway 14 are now complete

Share

Transit riders travelling through Sooke and West Shore will have an easier time getting on board, now that construction of three new bus pullouts along Highway 14 is now complete.

The pullouts are located at the West Shore Parkway, Laidlaw Road, and Harbourview Road on both sides of Highway 14.

Buses will be able to fully move out of traffic, reducing congestion and making it safer for passengers to enter and exit buses.

Each stop is complete with deceleration and acceleration lanes, new bus shelters, railings, and enhanced lighting.

The stops at Laidlaw and Harbouview also have new illuminated crosswalks which allow for easier crossings to and from the new locations.

The new pullouts are part of a $10-million investment in immediate upgrades on Highway 14 from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
