Investigators have deemed the circumstances surrounding an early morning house fire in Parksville to be suspicious.
Emergency crews responded to the fire at 585 Martindale Road just after 4 a.m. on Monday.
The Parksville Fire department and Oceanside RCMP attended and quickly worked to ensure all five occupants got out of the home safely.
”There’s no injuries as a result of the fire but the home is extensively damaged and expected to be a total loss,” Parksville RCMP Cpl. Jesse Foreman said in a press release.
Anyone who has information about the fire, or saw any suspicious persons or vehicles leaving the area, is asked to call the General Investigation Section of the Oceanside RCMP at 250-248-6111.
