Two Victoria police officers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after arresting two suspects over the weekend.

Officers were called to a multi-unit residential building in the 700-block of Pandora Avenue just after 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, after reports of a man kicking in the door of one person’s suite and entering another person’s suite in the same building.

The man was located in a woman’s suite on a different floor, and unexpectedly exited the suite after negotiating with officers.

The man was taken to the ground after running at officers, and continued to fight with the officers on the ground.

The woman was also arrested after she attempted to keep officers from taking the man into custody.

Police recovered small amounts of drugs, including heroin and methamphetamine, from the scene, and are recommending charges including obstruction of police officers, uttering threats, and drug possession.
