The President of the US (and arguably the most controversial political leader in the world) is about to visit Canada for the first time since his inauguration in January 2017.

His trip is scheduled as a part of the G7 Summit on June 8th and 9th, which will be hosted at the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu in the Charlevoix region of Quebec.

The summit is a gathering of seven of the world’s most prominent and advanced economies, and consists of Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan.

The annual event gives leaders a chance to discuss some of the world’s biggest challenges and come up with ideas on how to tackle them.

“Canada is proud to put forward a progressive agenda for the 2018 G7. The themes we have chosen for the year will help focus our discussions on finding real, concrete solutions to promote gender equality, women’s empowerment, clean energy, and economic growth that works for everyone,” stated Trudeau.

“As G7 partners, we share a responsibility to ensure that all citizens benefit from our global economy, and that we leave a healthier, more peaceful, and more secure world for our children and grandchildren.”
