Looks like Marvel’s new Avenger’s movie was a Hulk-smash hit in Canada!

Avengers: Infinity War raked in the big bucks – about $19.7 million – earning it the title of the largest opening weekend of all time at the Canadian box office.

The highly anticipated newest instalment in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) knocked Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ opening weekend down to second place.

Infinity Wars also enjoyed significant success around the world over the weekend, bringing in a total of $640.9 million, and $257.7 million domestically. This figure is made more impressive by the fact that the movie has not aired in China yet – it will premier there on May 11th.

“As of this week, six of the top 10 biggest domestic opening weekends ever are now from Marvel Studios, including ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, ‘The Avengers’, ‘Black Panther’,  ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, ‘Captain America: Civil War’, and ‘Iron Man 3’,” Marvel stated in a release.
