Although the bike lane issue seems everpresent in Victoria, it turns out we’re not the only city grappling with the cycling infrastructure debate.
In fact, the construction (or lack thereof) of bike lanes in London, England, prompted one resident to make an informative YouTube video on the subject.
That video was then posted to Reddit.com/r/VictoriaBC, a forum discussing local news and other topics. The responses, as you can imagine, were mixed.
Though the road system of the UK’s largest metropolis is obviously much more complex to navigate than our own, YouTuber Jay Foreman manages to make the issue relatable to almost any city in the span of just 10 minutes.
So, whether you’re a staunch anti-lane advocate or a cyclist with a point to prove, this video is worth watching, if only to know that some cities are struggling with the issue of bike lanes far more than our own.
