Saturday, April 21st

Esquimalt Clothing & Toy Exchange

What: This is a once a month event where people can bring clothes to swap for something new-to-them or just bring clothes to donate. The clothing swap is held in a casual setting where people can peruse at their leisure.
Bring a bag of clothing and/or toys, take as much or as little as you want.
Where: Esquimalt United Church

Victoria Kids Consignment Sale

What: Come to  City Centre Park for the Victoria Kids Consignment sale. A great opportunity to save BIG on lightly used toys, books, and kids clothing. Two days only, don’t miss it!

Beyond the Basics of Wildlife Photography with Dave Hutchison

What: Join Dave Hutchison, an Accredited Nature and Pictoral / Scenic Photography with PPOC, for a presentation on “Beyond the Basics of Wildlife Photography”. Dave will also share his experience from trips to The Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary and Yellowstone NP.
Topics to be discussed will include: composition, tips, planning & research, and equipment considerations.

Spinnakers Sippin’ On Sunshine

On The Cusp Grand Opening

What: A pop up exhibition featuring contemporary art by the 2018 graduating class of Camosun College Visual Arts Program. Come to the grand opening and experience an extravagant 18,000 square foot gallery created and curated by Victoria’s next generation of artists.

Victoria Spring Home Expo

What: This year’s show brings you the latest in home decorating, energy saving products, building techniques, renovation options, and more. Find the options you need to make your house a home, and the resources to make your home a masterpiece!

Poems for the Planet

What: Celebrate Earth Day on April 22 with FREE poetry readings from Yvonne Blomer and guest poets who will express their climate change concerns and passion through poetry for Southern Vancouver Island and the Pacific Ocean.
Bring the kids to write or draw on a large paper mural what you love about our environment and your concerns for its protection.

Earth Day on the Gorge

What: Celebrate Earth Day with a fun, free, family event at both the Saanich Gorge Park and Esquimalt Gorge Park!
Build family connection and wellness while increasing your relationship to nature. Get your family into the practice of accessing the endless benefits of nature, a free activity that benefits individual physical, mental and emotional health.

Earth Day Cleanup

What: Come celebrate Earth Day with us at Clover Point for a beach cleanup and social gathering. If you are keen to start earlier, we encourage folks to start with a small cleanup of your neighbourhood or local beach and then bring your debris to Clover Point! The group with the largest amount of debris will win some prizes!
Surfrider will provide re-usable gloves and buckets. But if you have your own RE-USABLE supplies, please bring it with you! Also please bring your own mug, bowl and spoon!

We will meet in the grassy area in the middle of the parking circle.
When: 1 pm – 3 pm
Cost: Free!

Lyrid meteor shower

What: These meteors are a result of the Earth passing through icy debris left behind by Comet 160;C/1861 G1 Thatcher during the second half of April. The shower is expected to deliver 20 meteors per hour, with the possibility of fireballs as well.
Where: Go somewhere high up!
When: The best time to watch the show would be in the hours just before dawn on Sunday, when the night sky is at its darkest.
