On the morning of Friday, April 27th, employees at Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site were greeted with a nasty surprise.
The Parks Canada staff discovered that a vandal had broken into two parts of the site, causing about $2,000 worth of damage to the property.
An inventory of the site revealed that nothing significant was taken, but the incident left two windows, a light and a display cage damaged.
“Parks Canada is committed to protecting and preserving our national treasures for present and future generations,” reads a statement from Fort Rodd Hill & Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites.
West Shore RCMP are currently investigating the incident.
